Touched by the Parashah - Bereishis & Shemos

• A rav in Tiveria saves a troubled marriage with a steaming cup of coffee.
• A Jew in Auschwitz receives not one, but two tattooed numbers -- and finds in them a loving message from Above.
• A soldier clings to his tefillin, and a deadly minefield is miraculously cleared.

Rabbi Yechiel Spero, master teacher, gifted storyteller, and bestselling author, shares his insights, wisdom and, of course, his stories, on the weekly Torah portion.

Rabbi Spero draws upon literally hundreds of commentators, from classic to contemporary, to explore many crucial themes of each parashah in Sefer Bereishis and Shemos. And, of course, the book is filled with Rabbi Spero's marvelous, poignant true stories.

From the forests of the Ba'al Shem Tov to the lawns of Camp Simcha; from Rav Nosson Tzvi Finkel zt'l to a quadriplegic ba'al teshuvah, from a Polish nobleman contemplating a pogrom to Rav Yisrael Salanter zt'l holding a sitdown strike in Kovno - here are tales of determination and courage, of mesirus nefesh, of our loyalty to Hashem and His loving loyalty to us.
