Stories of Our Lives Part Two

In the late 1980s, the erudite, beloved Rabbi Nachman Bulman zt”l instilled in the author and writing teacher Sarah Shapiro a sense of mission: to put together a collection of the religious Jewish world’s “own genuine Literature.” From 1991 until today, the successive Our Lives Anthologies have been her response to Rav Bulman’s challenge.
Stories of Our Lives, ten years in the making and the newest addition to the series, brings together the choicest of pieces in two enticing volumes. A testament to the perspicacious eye of its editor and to the artistry of a hundred writers from around the globe, Stories of Our Lives is a feast for the soul and a celebration of life. “With our countless variations on the theme of being human,” writes Sarah Shapiro in her Introduction, “[and] across the wide spectrum of experiences that comprise this collection, from birth to death, our stories may be taken together – with our commonality and our differences – as the account of one soul’s travels through life in this world.”
