Kesuvim: Daniel / Ezra / Nehemiah

These three Books are the bridge between the destruction of the First Temple and the construction of the Second Temple after the Babylonian Exile.

The Book of Daniel describes the religious tenacity of the young Jews in exile; Chananya, Mishael, and Azariah in the furnace; Daniel in the lions' den, the handwriting on the wall, the downfall of Nebuchadnezzar's empire, and the mysterious dating of the coming of Mashiach.

The Books of Ezra and Nehemiah relate the return to the Land and the building of the new Temple, in the face of ferocious opposition and slander by the enemies of the newly arrived Jews.

Brilliantly edited and augmented by Rabbi Menachem Davis, based on the work of Rabbi Hersh Goldwurm Roberts and Rabbi Yosef Rabinowitz, this new volume does justice to the Text. Their work brings us new dimensions of understanding and beauty. It lets the verses speak to us - in language, in outlook, in aspiration for spiritual growth.
