Building a Shul

KIDS, TEENS & TWEENS: Watch a shul come together, from blueprint to completion! Shul is the place where we go to daven and to learn, to hear a shiur, blow the shofar, listen to the Megillah. It's the place that holds our eager tefillos, where we ask Hashem to fulfill our deepest desires. But how did this building come to be? What was here before the shul was built? How did these walls get so big and strong, and what's underneath them? What kind of workersand materials did it take to make this building? In Building a Shul, readers are taken on an exciting tour of the whole shul-building process. From designing the blueprints to rolling in the excavator and cement trucks; from erecting the elevator shaft to waterproofing the basement; from framing the walls to installing the windows and doors; and everything in between - the construction site where this shul will one day stand is buzzing with activity, and you're invited to watch it all from up close! So put on your hard hat, step over those pipes and ducts - careful with the spray foam over there! - and come along! By Simmy Horwitz
