challah-cover-778
Challah Cover #778

Beige and ivory crushed velvet quilted around an oval inset, with no stones anywhere in the design. The two tones are what make it work — the beige reads warm, the ivory reads light, and the quilting follows the seam between them so the contrast traces the oval rather than sitting in blocks. Crushed velvet on both sides means the whole surface breaks light and shifts as you move around the table.Three sizes are made: large at 19.5x23.5, small at 14.5x17.5 and medium at 15.5x19.5. On the small, the oval takes up most of the field and the contrast hits immediately; on the large there is more quilted ground around it and the cover reads as a full piece of table work rather than a panel.Without crystals this is the easy-living version of the oval quilted design — nothing to catch on a challah knife, nothing to check over after the meal. It suits a family table that gets used hard every week and a household that would rather the fabric spoke than the sparkle.
Malchut design #778
Material: Velvet, Quilted Velvet
Challah Cover Size: Large (19.5x23.5), Small (14.5x17.5), Medium (15.5x19.5)
Sold by Judaica Square, Lakewood NJ.
